The Asia-Pacific (APAC) deal landscape has demonstrated a relatively resilient trend among all the regions in 2025. While the overall deal activity has experienced a slight year-on-year (YoY) decline during January-May 2025, it was relatively lesser compared to all other regions. During January-May 2025, the total number of deals announced in the APAC region has seen a marginal YoY decrease of around 2%, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Shanghai Stock Exchange Hosts Investment Cooperation Training With Qatar Financial Centre

Recently, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Qatar Financial Centre jointly held an "Investment Cooperation Training" in Shanghai. The event was attended by 52 representatives from 37 listed and prospective listed companies from SSE and SZSE in various sectors, including energy, construction, pharmaceuticals, information technology, finance, and manufacturing. The training focused on in-depth discussions about Qatar's investment environment, operational practices, and financing policies. It aimed to help participating companies deepen their understanding of the business environment in the Middle East, extending their investment perspectives from countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE to Qatar. Additionally, it showcased the high-quality development achievements of China's leading listed companies and their willingness to embrace internationalization, providing new opportunities for Chinese enterprises to explore the Middle Eastern market and promote cooperation between China and Qatar.

United States Files Civil Forfeiture Complaint Against $225M In Funds Involved In Cryptocurrency Investment Fraud Money Laundering

The Department of Justice filed a civil forfeiture complaint today in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia against more than $225.3 million in cryptocurrency. According to the complaint, law enforcement used blockchain analysis and other investigative techniques to determine that the cryptocurrency is connected to the theft and laundering of funds from victims of cryptocurrency investment fraud schemes, commonly referred to as “cryptocurrency confidence scams.”
