AIFC Connect: Shanghai 2026 Successfully Hosted At Shanghai Stock Exchange

The "AIFC Connect: Shanghai 2026," co-hosted by the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), Kazakhstan's Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), and the Astana International Exchange (AIX), was recently held successfully at the SSE. Officials from the Shanghai Municipal Government, the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Shanghai, the SSE, and the AIFC attended the event and delivered speeches. The event provided an overview of Kazakhstan's financial system and capital market, attracting nearly 150 representatives from listed companies, securities firms, fund management companies, and other relevant institutions from both China and Kazakhstan. Over 10 one-on-one meetings were organized between institutions from the two countries, during which attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on investment and cooperation opportunities for businesses and capital markets in both nations.

CFFEX: Notice On Collecting Tiered Order Submission Fees On Equity Index Futures

Pursuant to the Detailed Clearing Rules of China Financial Futures Exchange, China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) plans to collect tiered order submission fees on equity index futures contracts from clients based on their message amount (MA) and order-to-trade ratio (OTR), which will take effect on June 1, 2026.

U.S. Financial Stability Oversight Council Meeting

On Wednesday, May 6, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent will preside over a meeting of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (Council) at the Treasury Department. The meeting will consist only of an executive session. The preliminary agenda for the executive session includes a presentation on the Council’s Market Resilience Working Group; a presentation on the Council’s Financial Market Utilities Committee; and a discussion on stablecoins.
