Nymex To Expand Aluminum Hours

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced today that it would expand the open outcry trading hours for aluminum futures and options, beginning on Wednesday, November 14, to 8 AM to 1:10 PM from 8:15 AM to 12:55 PM.

A recent survey by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) shows that local retail investors were the major contributors to the trading of HKEx derivative products. They contributed 36 per cent of total transactions in HKEx's major derivatives products, Hang Seng Index (HSI) Futures, HSI Options, Mini-HSI Futures, HIBOR (Hong Kong Interbank Offered Rate) futures and stock options, from July 2000 to June 2001. Instinet Group Incorporated (Nasdaq: INET), through its affiliates, the world's largest electronic agency securities broker, today announced the opening of Instinet Fixed Income Europe's French broker desk. The Paris-based desk will provide Instinet's clients with access to the French government bond market. This is one of Europe's core sovereign debt markets with approximately €580 billion in outstandings and ranked in the top three government bond markets alongside Germany and Italy.
Euronext Paris Derivatives Markets Trading In October 2001 Sets new Record Of 37.7 Million Contracts +68.5% On October 2000

A record 37,735,748 futures and options contracts changed hands on Euronext Paris derivatives markets in October 2001, for a daily average 68.5% higher than in October 2000. The previous high was over 36 million in September 2001.

Dow Jones Indexes today announced improvements in the sector classification system of the Dow Jones Global Index family, which includes the pan-European STOXX indexes. The changes will be effective at the opening of trading on December 24, 2001.

Deutsche Börse successfully launched trading in Dutch equities in the Xetra Dutch Stars segment on Monday.
