Cap Gemini N.V to be removed from Amsterdam Midkap Index once Bid is accepted

On June 16, 1999, Cap Gemini S.A., the French parent company of Cap Gemini N.V., issued a press release announcing its intention to acquire all the outstanding shares in Cap Gemini N.V. by means of a public share exchange bid. Cap Gemini N.V. will be removed from the Amsterdam Midkap Index (AMX) as soon as possible once the bid is accepted. The weighting assigned to Cap Gemini N.V. will be distributed proportionately between the 24 remaining securities.

A New Surveillance System at the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited have acquired a new automated surveillance and trading analysis system called SMARTS. The SFC and the Exchange acquired the system from Computershare, an Australian software vendor. After extensive testing during the past five months, the system is now fully operational.
