Following from the Cabinet Resolution on 26 November 2002 giving approval for Monday December 30 2002 to be a public holiday, the Bank of Thailand has confirmed that this day will be a Bank Holiday as well.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today filed a settled civil action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York alleging that Frank E. Walsh Jr., a former Tyco International Ltd. director, violated the federal securities laws by signing a Tyco registration statement that he knew contained material misrepresentations.

NYMEX To Launch Financially Settled Monthly, Weekly, And Daily PJM Electricity Futures Contracts

The board of directors of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., last week approved plans to introduce three financially settled Pennsylvania/New Jersey/ Maryland (PJM) electricity futures contracts in the first part of 2003 - one based on a daily floating price for each peak day of the month; one based on a daily floating price for each peak day of the week; and one based on the daily floating price for the next peak day.

New Volume Record For NYBOT's Russell Contract

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced yesterday a new daily volume record for its Russell 1000 futures contract of 64,680 contracts set on December 12, 2002. The old Russell record was 43,840 contracts, set on June 3, 2002.
