SEC Charges Notorious "Dr. Noe" And Five Others In Million Dollar Prime Bank Fraud

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Thursday filed fraud charges against career swindler Clif Goldstein - long known to criminal law authorities as "Dr. Noe" - for bilking at least 20 investors out of nearly $1.1 million in an elaborate fraud known as a prime bank scheme. The lawsuit also names Goldstein's older brother, Paul Howe Noe, and two Boca Raton, Fla. companies run by the brothers, Great American Trust Co. and Great American Trust Corp.

NYMEX, CME Partner To Offer E-Mini Energy Futures Cooperation Agreement Includes Cross-Access And Cross-Margining

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. (NYMEX), and Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) today announced at a joint news conference in New York that they have reached a cooperative agreement to offer newly created "E-mini" versions of key NYMEX energy futures contracts for trading on CME's GLOBEX® electronic trading platform and clearing at the NYMEX Clearing House.

NEWEX Starts The Year Off With A Record: 687 Million Euro In Turnover

At NEWEX (New Europe Exchange), the exchange for Central and East European (CEE) securities, volume of 687 million euros was traded in January, making it the highest monthly turnover in NEWEX history. The previous record was set in June 2001 with a turnover of 556 million euros. A total volume of 3.1 billion euros was traded at NEWEX in 2001, giving it a market share of over 65 per cent of the German CEE securities market.

CME: Side-By-Side' GSCI® Futures Trading To Begin Feb. 19 as New Pit Trading Hours Take Effect

"Side-by-side" electronic and open outcry trading of Goldman Sachs Commodity Index (GSCI®) futures will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME), as the exchange revises pit trading hours in the product to 8:45 am. to 2:00 p.m. (Central time).

CME Contract Specifications Changes: Goldman Sachs Commodity Index Futures

The CME Contract Specifications pages on the CME's Web site have been updated to reflect the following for the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index Futures Contract: Changes the Floor-traded Opening time from 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Changes the Closing time for both Floor-traded and GLOBEX-traded from 2:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Changes the GLOBEX Opening time from 2:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This action takes place on Tuesday, February 19, 2002.

CME Contract Specifications Changes: Eurodollar Options

The CME Contract Specifications pages on the CME's Web site have been updated to reflect the following: On Monday, February 11, 2002 the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. listed two additional Eurodollar options quarterly contracts (7th and 8th Quarterlies). The underlying futures contracts for these options will be the September 2003 and December 2003. The options will expire on Monday September 15, 2003 and Monday December 15, 2003 respectively.
