    On Friday, October 1, ParisBourse SBF SA launched Europe's first corn future, rounding out the range of commodities already traded on markets operated by ParisBourseSBFSA. The new contract was created in response to demand from industry professionals and has received the support of AGPM, the French corn producers' trade body.

    The month of August was the busiest ever on the Premier Marché and Second Marché as transaction volumes reached a daily average of EUR2.43 billion, showing increases of +43.6% compared to August 1998 and +17.29% to 1998 as a whole.     Sun development Holding N.V. (previously Satcom Holding N.V.) has submitted an appeal to the Securities Board of the Netherlands (Stichting Toezicht Effectenverkeer) against Amsterdam Exchanges’ decision to cease listing Satcom securities. Amsterdam Exchanges will not implement its decision until six weeks after the Securities Board of the Netherlands has decided on the appeal. This means that Satcom securities will continue to be listed in the "Fondsen met een noteringsmaatregel" section
