Wiener Börse Launches CECE MID CAP Index

Today, Wiener Börse has starting calculating and publishing a new regional index, the CECE MID CAP Index (CECE MID). It is composed of the 30 most-actively traded and highly-capitalized stocks listed on the exchanges of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe that would normally belong to the index universe of the CECE Extended Index, but are not included because of their lower market capitalization or trading volumes. Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) announced today that the revised minimum bids schedule for the securities market will take effect on Monday, 24 December 2007. The new schedule seeks to improve trading efficiency and market liquidity.

Implementing the MICEX Group’s regional development strategy, the MICEX has acquired 100% stake in the Urals Regional Currency Exchange (URCEX), thus becoming the only shareholder in this regional exchange. On 5 December it was decided to amend the charter of the URCEX and turn it into the Regional Exchange Center "MICEX - Urals.”
