Dubai Financial Market (DFM), the first regional exchange to go public, and the first shariah complaint market globally, today announced the listing of Drake & Scull International PJSC, engaged in mechanical, electrical, plumbing infrastructure water, and power and civil contracting. Company shares began trading on Monday, March 16th , 2009, under the trading symbol “DSI” within the real estate and construction sector, which will appear on DFM screens, trading systems and publications.

Middle East private equity fund managers raised a record $6.4 billion in 2008, up more than 10% over 2007 and more than double the amount raised in 2005, according to Gulf Venture Capital Association’s (GVCA) 2008 report on Private Equity & Venture Capital in the Middle East, which was released today at the Dubai International Financial Centre.

Most of the positive impact on the Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for OAO "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) (plus 15.81 points), ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSN) (plus 13.75 points) and Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (plus 12.79 points).
