CME Group To Launch Contracts On Nonfarm Payrolls

CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives exchange, announced today that futures and options on futures on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' (BLS) Nonfarm Payroll data are scheduled to launch Sunday, April 27, 2008, in anticipation of the Friday, May 2, release of the April economic data.

New Futures Exchange Unveils Name: ELX Electronic Liquidity Exchange

A new futures exchange formed by 12 leading financial institutions today announced that its name will be ELX Electronic Liquidity Exchange. ELX made the announcement from Boca Raton, where hundreds of market participants are gathering for the Futures Industry Association's annual conference.

With Xpect Data, Deutsche Börse is expanding its Market Data & Analytics department to include data from the new insurance risks asset class. Deutsche Börse will deliver data on life expectancy and mortality risk via Xpect Data. In addition, Deutsche Börse will introduce indices, under the name Xpect-Indices, which will serve as securitization for life and pension insurance risks or as the basis for other financial products.

According to a new industry study released today by TABB Group, “Imperfect Knowledge: International Perspectives on Transaction Cost Analysis,” equity post-trade transaction cost analysis (TCA) usage among U.S. and European firms will reach nearly 90% by 2009, with 38% of those firms examining TCA on a daily basis.
