FTSE Group, the award-winning global index provider, today confirms the results of the March review of the FTSE4Good global index series. An additional 41 companies worldwide have met the index criteria that assess companies’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices based on principles of Responsible Investment (RI). Better Regulation Approach: Autorité Des Marchés Financiers Publishes Simplified Procedure For Examining And Authorising Issue Prospectuses For Listed Companies

Further to the public consultation on the simplified examination and authorisation procedure for public offerings by listed companies, the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) has published the new procedure approved by its Board. The procedure has been written into Article 5 of Instruction 2005-11 of 13 December 2005 on disclosure requirements for public offerings, pursuant to Title I of Book II of the AMF General Regulation.

BNP Paribas Commodity Futures, Ltd. Of London To Pay A $25,000 Civil Monetary Penalty To Settle CFTC Charges Of Large Trader Reporting Violations

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that BNP Paribas Commodity Futures, Ltd. (CFL) will pay a $25,000 civil monetary penalty to settle charges that it failed to provide to the CFTC timely and accurate account information for a reportable large trader account, as required by CFTC regulations.

TSX Group's Interim Co-CEO Calls For National Carbon Market With Full Engagement Of Emitters

TSX Group Inc. Interim Co-CEO Rik Parkhill says TSX Group believes that a national emissions market that allows the price of carbon to vary with market conditions is the best solution for Canada. In a speech to the Calgary Chamber of Commerce today, Mr. Parkhill said, “At TSX Group we have, for a considerable time, looked at carbon trading as a market mechanism which holds great promise in supporting the reduction of carbon emissions.”

Following on from the circuit breaker which was activated on Monday, 10 March 2008, market integrity remains intact and trading is recovering on a positive note. Upon resumption of trading after the circuit breaker, the market saw strong buys from foreign funds, as indicated by 51% of total buys on the top 20 counters on KLCI during the final period of trading (3:58 p.m. to 5 p.m.). The total percentage of foreign buying for Monday,10 March 2008 was at 33%.
