The Financial Services Agency (FSA) issued a comment letter dated February 25 2008, regarding the consultation document ''CESR's advice on the equivalence of Chinese, Japanese and US GAAPs'', which was published on December 18, 2007, by the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR).

The Fourth Japan-EU Monitoring Meeting on Developments in Accounting and Auditing Issues was held in Tokyo on March 3, 2008. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Junichi Maruyama, Deputy Commissioner for International Affairs of the Financial Services Agency, and by Mr. Pierre Delsaux, Director, Directorate-F of DG Internal Market and Services of the European Commission (EC). A number of officials participated in the meeting from both sides.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that it has obtained an emergency court order against an unregistered securities day-trading firm in La Jolla, Calif., that was not disclosing to traders that more than one-third of their money was being used to cover other traders' losses or pay firm expenses.
