Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, May 2, 2011:
- Canacol Energy Ltd. (TSXVN:CNE) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on TSX under the same ticker symbol. Canacol will remain a constituent of the S&P/TSX Venture 30 Index until the next index rebalancing at the end of July, 2011.

The US Treasury ‘proposed determination’ to exempt foreign exchange forwards and swaps transactions from forced clearing under the Dodd-Frank Act is a major step in ensuring the continued availability of cost-effective hedging for corporates and investors and the on-going functioning of a well performing market, according to the Global FX Division.

Report On Foreign Holdings Of U.S. Securities At End-June 2010

The final results from the survey of foreign portfolio holdings of U.S. securities at end-June 2010 are released today on the U.S. Treasury web site at (http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Pages/fpis.aspx). A revised table on Major Foreign Holders of Treasury Securities, where estimates through end-February 2011 are based in part on survey data, is also released at (http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Documents/mfh.txt).

Daily Options Volume Record Shattered At MGEX

MGEX, a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), today announced a new daily volume record for Hard Red Spring Wheat Options (HRSW) was set during the April 28 session when 4,623 options contracts traded. The new record is a 73 percent increase over the previous daily options volume record of 2,667 contracts set February 8, 2008.

Emissions Trading: European Commission Rejects Estonia's Revised National Allocation Plan For 2008-2012

The European Commission today rejected a revised Estonian National Allocation Plan (NAP) for distributing carbon dioxide (CO2) emission allowances for the 2008-2012 trading period of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS). The Commission rejected the plan on several grounds but in particular because the average total quantity of allowances Estonia proposed to allocate to its installations over the period was too high. The revised NAP was submitted following the Commission's decision of 11 December 2009 rejecting the initial plan.

Publication Of The Responses Received To The Consultation On ESMA´s Technical Advice To The Commission On Fees For CRA Supervision

On 24 February 2011 ESMA received a formal request from the European Commission (the Commission) to provide technical advice to assist the Commission in formulating a Regulation on fees for Credit Rating Agencies (CRAs) by delegated act. The advice is due to be delivered to the Commission by 13 May 2011. -
