Thai Bourse Continues To Enhance Investment Channel Via Banks, Brokers

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET),  together with seven banks and seven securities firms, launch the “Banker to Broker & One for All” campaign for a second year, to expand investment channels through 5,200 bank branches and the banks’ brokerage subsidiaries and stimulate securities trading via Internet banking. This underlines SET’s 2012 strategy to expand the retail investor base and boost trading channel this year.

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Esprit Holdings Futures

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Tuesday, 28 February 2012, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company's normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

SIX Swiss Exchange: COSI Segment Opened To British Collateral Providers

Collateral Secured Instruments (COSI) with collateral providers from theUK can now be listed on SIX Swiss Exchange, which marks another milestone in the internationalization of the COSI service. COSI is an innovative service for minimizing issuer risk with structured products. COSI products are traded exclusively on Scoach Zurich and Frankfurt.

SGX Welcomes New Lyxor ETF Listings

Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced today the listing of two new exchange-traded funds (ETFs) byLyxor International Asset Management (“Lyxor”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Société Générale. This brings the total number of ETFs on SGX to 92.

Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (Bursa Securities) has publicly reprimanded, imposed a fine of RM100,000 and suspended Chong Lee Fatt (Chong) for 12 months as a Registered Person, including from trading on or through the stock market of Bursa Malaysia as a Dealer’s Representative (DR), for breaching rules related to the opening of a client’s account and for unauthorised and false trading activities in the shares of:-

1. YGL Convergence Bhd (YGL); and
2. HDISPLAY (MSC) Bhd (HDISPLAY).
