U.S. Department Of The Treasury: Report On Foreign Holdings Of U.S. Securities At End - June 2012

The final results from the annual survey of foreign portfolio holdings of U.S. securities at the end of June 2012 were released today on the Treasury website athttp://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/tic/Pages/fpis.aspx. The survey was undertaken jointly by Treasury, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. The next survey will cover holdings at the end of June 2013; preliminary data are expected to be released by February 28, 2014.

Jonathan S. Sokobin Named FINRA's Chief Economist

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) announced today that Jonathan S. Sokobin, currently Acting Deputy Director, Research and Analysis in the Office of Financial Research at the U.S. Treasury Department, will join the organization as Chief Economist and Senior Vice President. In this role, Dr. Sokobin will lead FINRA's Office of the Chief Economist. Dr. Sokobin, who will report directly to Chairman and CEO Richard Ketchum, will start at FINRA on May 20.
