EEX Trading Results For December 2017- Phelix-DE Volume Exceeds Phelix-DE/AT For The First Time

In December 2017, the European Energy Exchange (EEX) achieved a total volume of 234.5 TWh on its power derivatives markets (December 2016: 287.4 TWh). The December volume comprised 160.8 TWh traded at EEX via Trade Registration with subsequent clearing. Clearing and settlement of all exchange transactions was executed by European Commodity Clearing (ECC).

FSB Publishes Governance Arrangements And Implementation Plan For The Unique Transaction Identifier (UTI)

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) has published Governance arrangements for the unique transaction identifier (UTI): Conclusions and implementation plan. The UTI is a key global harmonised identifier for reporting over-the-counter (OTC) derivative transactions, in particular designed to facilitate effective aggregation of transaction reports. The final arrangements take account of stakeholder responses to a public consultation launched in March 2017, as well as an industry workshop.

HKEX Welcomes Yue Yi To Its Risk Management Committee (Statutory)

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) welcomes Yue Yi, the new Chairman of the Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL), to its Risk Management Committee (Statutory) (RMC). His appointment was in accordance with the Securities and Futures Ordinance. Mr Yue replaced Raymond Cheng, the former chairman of HKICL.

Dubai Financial Market Performance, 2017

The Dubai Financial Market General Index decreased by 4.6% to 3370 points at the end of this year compared to 3531 points at the end of 2016. At the sectorial level, indexes of four out of the nine sectors represented on DFM ended the year in the red, with the Consumer Staples and Discretionary sector decreasing the most by 52.9%, followed by the Telecommunication sector by 17.7%, and Real Estate and Construction sector by 6.2%. In contrast the Services sector increased by 26.3%, followed by the Banking sector by 3.1%, and the Insurance sector by 1.9%.
