HKEX: Expansion Of Eligible ETFs On Stock Connect To Take Effect On 22 July

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is pleased to announce today (Friday) that the expansion of eligible exchange-traded funds (ETFs) under Stock Connect will take effect on 22 July 2024. This follows the announcement of the new eligibility criteria by HKEX, Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange on 19 April 2024.

Asadej Kongsiri Appointed As 14th SET President

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)'s Board of Governors today unanimously appointed Asadej Kongsiri to be the exchange's 14th president for a four-year term effective from September 19, 2024. His appointment followed a comprehensive selection process. He will commence work on August 1, 2024, in transition prior to his official role.

Japan Securities And Exchange Surveillance Commission: Recommendation For Administrative Monetary Penalty Payment Orders Against A Person For Insider Trading And An Employee For Giving Insider Information While Their Company Negotiated An Agreement With Stream Media Corporation

1. Contents of the Recommendation
The Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission today made a recommendation to the Prime Minister and the Commissioner of the Financial Services Agency that administrative monetary penalty payment orders be issued in regard to insider trading by one person and also an employee providing insider information about their company, which was negotiating to enter into an agreement with Stream Media Corporation (“SMC”), pursuant to Article 20 (1) of the Act for Establishment of the Financial Services Agency. This recommendation is based on the findings of an investigation into a suspected instance of insider trading and providing insider information whereby the following violations of laws and ordinances were identified.
