SIFMA Fixed Income Market Close Recommendation In The U.S., The U.K. And Japan For U.S. Labor Day Holiday

SIFMA has confirmed its previous holiday recommendation for a full market close on Monday, September 7 for the trading of U.S. dollar-denominated fixed income securities in the U.S., the U.K., and Japan in observance of the U.S. Labor Day holiday.

CFTC Adds More Than 20 Unregistered Foreign Entities To RED List - New RED List Interactive Webpage Launched

As part of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s ongoing efforts to help protect Americans from fraud, today the CFTC added 22 unregistered foreign entities to its Registration Deficient List (RED List). The CFTC also launched a redesigned RED List webpage that provides more information about the listed entities and why the CFTC recommends individuals not engage in financial transactions with them. Launched in 2015 [See CFTC Press Release No. 7224-15], the CFTC’s RED List now contains 168 entities.

Focus
When a country's exchange rate falls, the effect on corporate balance sheets may become significant. A firm that borrows in foreign currency is vulnerable to unexpected exchange rate movements if its currency exposures are not fully hedged operationally (eg the firm exports) or financially (eg with financial derivatives). A depreciation can weaken the firm's balance sheet and thus hinder investment. This paper studies such balance sheet effects in a sample of 15 emerging market economies (EMEs).

Chainalysis Partners With Leading Australian Cryptocurrency Businesses - Assembly Payments, CoinSpot, And CoinJar Choose Chainalysis To Boost Compliance Practices

Chainalysis, the blockchain analysis company, today announced partnerships with leading Australia-based payments provider Assembly Payments and cryptocurrency exchanges CoinSpot and CoinJar to improve compliance standards. CoinSpot and CoinJar will use Chainalysis KYT (Know Your Transaction) and Chainalysis Reactor for transaction monitoring and enhanced due diligence. Assembly Payments will use Chainalysis Kryptos, the industry’s reference directory for cryptocurrency services and their on-chain activity, to make more informed decisions about the cryptocurrency businesses they work with and monitor risky activity.
