WorldCom Statement Re: Sevice Interruptions Affecting The Copenhagen Stock Exchange

In the last 24 hours, some customers including the OM Group, have experienced service interruption on the WorldCom Nordic network. WorldCom technical teams have identified the issue as transport interruption on leased facilities and normal service has now been restored. WorldCom regrets any inconvenience this issue has created for its Nordic customers and their end users.

Program Trading Averaged 21.2 Percent Of NYSE Volume During Oct. 9-13

The New York Stock Exchange today released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Oct. 9-13. The data indicated that during Oct. 9-13, program trading amounted to 21.2 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 1,152.8 million shares, or 244.6 million shares a day.

Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) Sets One-Day Record Volume In Equity And Index Options

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) reported that 629,072 equity and index options contracts traded on Oct. 17 marking a one-day record high volume. This was a 36 percent increase over the previous record-high daily volume on Oct. 11 when 453,001 contracts were traded.

NYMEX To Lower Oil Margins As Of Close Of Business Tomorrow

Nasdaq Posts Big Gains - Third Largest Point Gain Ever - Third Largest Percentage Gain Ever - Fifth Largest Volume Day Ever

The Nasdaq Stock MarketĀ® had its third largest point increase ever with preliminary figures showing the Nasdaq CompositeĀ® Index rising 247.04 points to 3418.60. The Composite climbed 7.79 percent, its third largest percent increase ever.

London Stock Exchange: Result Of Extraordinary General Meeting

At the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held at 12.00 noon today, the special resolution to amend the articles of association in respect of the 4.9 per cent shareholding limit was not approved by shareholders. The result of the poll was 46.7 per cent in favour and 53.3 per cent against the resolution. Under the provisions of the Companies Act, any resolution to amend a company's articles of association must have at least 75 per cent of votes cast in favour.

Interim Results For London Stock Exchange Plc For The Six Months Ended 30 September 2000 -

The London Stock Exchange published its unaudited interim results today showing an 89 per cent increase in operating profits for continuing operations before exceptional items. These results cover the first half-year period following demutualisation in March this year.

EURONEXT Introduces 5-Years Options On UPC And Wolters Kluwer

As from Monday 23 October 2000, option series with an initial lifetime of 5 years will be introduced in the option classes United Pan-Communications (UPC) and Wolters Kluwer (WKL) on the Euronext Amsterdam derivatives market.
