1999 was another successful year for Osaka Mercantile Exchange. Our aluminium futures was traded actively especially in the first half of the year and the rubber and rubber index futures markets gradually recovered their popularity from their low prices. In total, we achieved more volumes than those traded in the previous year. Central Bank Of Iceland Weekly Repo Auction, 11.Jan.

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on January 11 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 9.0 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 5.5 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

Amsterdam Exchanges Silver Options To Be Delisted

Amsterdam Exchanges has decided to stop introducing new series in the silver option class with effect from the January 2000 expiration. As no further expiry months will be introduced, silver options will no longer be traded on Amsterdam Exchanges options market after the May 2000 expiration.

Amsterdam Exchanges Goes For Gold - Change To Contract Specifications For Gold Options

Amsterdam Exchanges will introduce new-style gold options on 20 March 2000. The contract specifications for these new gold options will change in a number of ways from those for existing gold options. The new options will be European style, which means that they cannot be exercised before their expiration date. On 7 January 2000, The Central Depository (Pte) Limited ("CDP") received an amended Document issued by Effective Capital Sdn Bhd ("ECSB") relating to a proposal for migration of CLOB Securities. The Document was dated 24 December 1999 and amended as at 6 January 2000. CDP is reviewing the amendments for incorporation into the Document to be disseminated. In the amended Document, the closing date for the Proposal has been extended to 22 February 2000.

Nasdaq Sets One-Day Point Gain Record For The Second Trading Session In A Row

The Nasdaq Stock Market® yesterday had its largest point increase ever for the second trading day in a row, with preliminary figures showing the Nasdaq Composite® Index rising 167.05 points to 4049.67. The Composite climbed 4.3 percent, its 9th largest percent increase ever. The previous point gain record was set on Friday, January 7, 2000 with the Composite Index rising 155.49 points.
