Nymex to Introduce Interexchange Margins for Copper, Aluminum, Platinum

The New York Mercantile Exchange will implement interexchange spread margin credits at the close of business on Friday, February 4, in its copper, aluminum, and platinum futures markets similar to the credits available to crude oil spreaders.

CBOT To Expand Project A Trading Hours For Agricultural Contracts

The Chicago Board of Trade announced today that trading hours for agricultural contracts on Project A, the CBOT's electronic trading platform, will change to 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Chicago Time), beginning Monday, February 21, 2000. The current hours are 9:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. (Chicago Time)

CBOT Posts Highest January Volume Ever At 22,820,812 Contracts, Up 63.7% From December 1999

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today trading volume of 22,820,812 contracts for January 2000, up 12.1% from January 1999 and up 63.7% from December 1999, the highest ever for the month of January.

CBOE Average Daily Volume Continues To Soar In 2000

The new millennium started with a bang at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) as overall average daily volume reached 1,505,578 contracts during the month of January, surpassing the previous average daily volume record for one month of 1,226,110 contracts which was set in December 1999. On January 21st a new daily volume record was set when 2.3 million contracts traded.
