    The shares of JOMED N.V., medical-technical company, were traded today for the first time on the SWX New Market. The offering price was set Tuesday night at CHF 42. At the start of trading on SWX, the stock stood 18% above that level at CHF 49.50, representing a total market capitalization for the company of CHF 1.1 billion.

  • The Tokyo Stock Exchange Announces Change In The Initial Trading Dates Of Non-quarterly Month Contracts In Options On JGB Futures

    The initial trading dates of non-quarterly month contracts in Options on JGB Futures will be advanced to the 1st of the second prior month of the respective option contract months from July 2000 contract. By the same token, the strike prices with 0.5 yen interval in the quarterly month contracts will be added on the 1st of the month prior to the last trading month from September 2000 contract so that 11 or more consecutive strike prices with 0.5 yen interval are available.

  • Nasdaq Records Another One-Day Point Gain Record - It Is The Composite's Second Consecutive Record

    The Nasdaq Composite Index® achieved its largest one-day point increase ever, with preliminary statistics showing a rise of 254.41 points to close at 3793.57. That translates into a 7.2 percent increase, the Composite's second largest percent increase. The previous point gain record was established only one day before, when the Composite Index climbed 217.87 points to finish at 3539.16.
