    After its first full week of trading, the newly launched Russell 1000 Index futures contract on the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) reached an open interest level of 5,057 at the end of trading on Friday, March 12, 1999. Futures volume to date stands at 13,014 contracts traded.

  • Paris Stock Exchange Trading Volume Dips From January's Record High

    Trading volume on the Paris markets dipped slightly in February, to 4.12 million trades. The daily average was EUR2.29 million for February is below January's record figure of EUR2.62 billion, but is 37% higher than in February 1998 and 11% higher than 1998's daily average value. Year-to-date transaction volume for the months of January and February stood at 8.78 million trades, a 27% increase from 1998.
