Copenhagen Stock Exchange: Handsome Trading Volume Despite Bearish Market In March

In March 2001, equity trading amounted to DKK 66.6 billion, which was below average thoug handsome compared to a bearish global market. The value of average daily trading amounted to a little more than DKK 3 billion, a 14 per cent fall on February 2001. Compared to the record month of March 2000, the trading volume fell by 18 per cent.

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (the Exchange) proposes to amend the Exchange Listing Rules of the Main Board: to allow listed issuers and listing applicants, which have or are to have a primary listing on the Exchange, to adopt IAS; and to allow overseas-incorporated listed issuers and listing applicants, which have or are to have a secondary listing on the Exchange, to adopt US GAAP.

SWX: The Twelfth "Kantonalbank" Is Going Public

The shares of St. Galler Kantonalbank AG were traded today for the first time on the main market of the SWX Swiss Exchange. The offering price was set Sunday night at CHF 160. At the start of trading on SWX, the stock stood 0.6% above that level at CHF 161, representing a total market capitalization for the company of CHF 805 million.

Eurex, the international derivatives market, set another world record in March: With 61.2 million contracts traded, the world market leader surpassed its March 2000 turnover by 45 percent and beat the previous record of 53.5 million contracts traded in January 2001. Overview The London Stock Exchange plc ("the LSE") and the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa ("the JSE") are pleased to announce the signing of Heads of Terms, representing a new development between two international exchanges.
