CBOT mini-sized Dow futures posted a new record volume day on March 5, 2004 when 93,096 contracts traded. Average daily volume for mini-sized Dow futures during the week of March 1-5 was 68,428 contracts.

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced that it shattered its single day volume record, trading 3,789,424 contracts on Friday, March 5, 2004. The previous record was set only a week earlier on February 26, 2004, with 3,354,490 contracts traded.

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) exchange markets made history in February, breaking the all-time total monthly volume record of September 2003 by 101,316 contracts by trading 2,677,489 futures and options. The NYBOT's agricultural markets established their own high-water marks with a combined futures and options volume of 2,527,488 contracts, led by historic levels of overall agricultural futures trading and record activity in coffee and sugar.
