Dow SM Jones & Co. announced on May 31, 2001, that it would extend the real-time calculation of the DJIA SM to 13 hours a day beginning in September 2001. The first 6.5 hours of calculation will be "indicative," based on actual trades of the 30 DJIA SM component stocks on Xetra, an electronic trading platform of the German stock exchange.
Stock Exchange of Thailand To Change Base For Calculating SET Index On 1 July

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will adjust the base index value of the SET Index from 1 July 2001 onwards. Also, in order to more accurately reflect market conditions, any stocks that have been suspended from trading for over one year will not be included in the index calculation.

The London Stock Exchange today announced a new scheme that will make it easier for its shareholders to hold their shares electronically. Due to coincide with its planned listing in July and reflecting its desire to move towards a fully electronic register in its shares, the Exchange has decided to waive the annual service fee for investors holding shares in the company.
