The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that May was the busiest month in CBOE history as trading volume totaled 70,522,508 contracts. The record 70.5 million contracts traded during May surpassed the previous high of 55.0 million contracts from March 2006, and was 103% higher than May 2005 volume of 34.7 million. OneChicago Reports May Volume YTD Volume Up 40%

OneChicago, LLC today reported that 272,719 security futures contracts traded at the Exchange in May, a 5% increase over May 2005. Average daily volume (ADV) was 12,396. Year-to-date volume is up 40% over 2005. Open interest stood at 802,854 contracts May 31.
