  • Seadrill Not Successful In Its Legal Proceedings Against Oslo Børs

    On the afternoon of Monday 3 December, the Oslo District Court issued its ruling on the annulment action brought by Seadrill Limited against Oslo Børs in connection with the decision of the Stock Exchange Appeals Committee in respect of Seadrill’s duty to make a mandatory offer for Eastern Drilling ASA. Seadrill’s claim that the Committee’s decision was invalid did not succeed.

  • LCH.Clearnet Freight Cleared Volumes Set More New Records

    LCH.Clearnet is pleased to announce another record month for cleared volumes in its OTC Freight Forward Agreement (FFA) clearing service. Total cleared volumes soared to over 100,000 lots in November, a rise of almost 20% over volumes seen in October, which itself doubled the previous record performance in September. Furthermore, total open interest rose by over a third to 146,000 lots.

    RTS Information committee of OJSC “RTS” approved new lists of stocks to calculate RTS Index, RTS-2 and sectoral indices, which will be valid from December 17, 2007 to March 14, 2008.

    Highlights Average number of daily trades was 2,524 for November, a 4% increase on the same period in 2006. Total capital raised in 2007 will easily close up strongly on last year with a total of $4.65 billion equity and debt raised year to date. Number of NZX Data Real time terminals has increased to 10,401, up 25% on the same period last year. Instalment warrant trades showed good growth, up 63% year on year.
