ISDA Response To Margin Transparency Consultation

On April 12, ISDA and the Institute of International Finance (IIF) responded to the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) and International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) consultation on transparency and responsiveness of initial margin in centrally cleared markets. The associations support enhancing transparency on cleared margin for all market participants, as it will benefit intermediary and end-user preparedness for margin calls and increase the resilience of the system overall.

Thank you, Matteo. It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 13th International Research Forum on Monetary Policy. The vibrant discussions you will engage in at this conference, and your research more broadly, will help us to understand better the origins and implications of uncertainty. I became a member of the Federal Reserve Board just as it was grappling with the economic after-effects of the pandemic, a once-in-a-century disturbance of worldwide significance. As a result, I know from firsthand experience that understanding the main sources of uncertainty and how best to make monetary policy decisions in the presence of uncertainty are crucial to policymaking.

ISDA: EMIR Refit Reporting Suggested Operational Practices

In preparation for the commencement of the EMIR Refit regulatory reporting rules on 29 April 2024, Suggested Operational Practices (SOP) for over-the-counter derivative (OTC) reporting have been established and agreed by market participants through a series of discussions held within the ISDA Data and Reporting EMEA Working Group. These SOPs have been developed to help deliver accuracy and efficiency of EMIR reporting, and to adhere to the regulatory requirements.

On Tuesday 16/04/2024 ,the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) received a student delegation from the Judicial Institute of Jordan as part of a field visit to the Jordanian capital market institutions (Jordan Securities Commission, Amman Stock Exchange, and Securities Depository Center), with the aim of learning about the working mechanism of Capital Market Institutions by presenting the tasks and responsibilities they undertake and the services they provide in addition to the legislation governing their work.
