NOREX: Letter Of Intention Signed - Joint Press Release From The Copenhagen Stock Exchange, The OM Stockholm Exchange And The Oslo Stock Exchange.

The Copenhagen Stock Exchange, the OM Stockholm Exchange and the Oslo Stock Exchange have today signed a letter of intent for the Oslo Stock Exchange to participate in the NOREX stock exchange alliance. The Norex alliance represents a co-operation on equal terms between independent stock exchanges to form a common market place for financial instruments. This market place is to be one of the world´s most efficient securities markets.

Merger of Stock Exchange of Singapore And SIMEX

On December 1, 1999, at 18:55 (Singapore time) the Stock Exchange of Singapore and SIMEX will merge to become Singapore Exchange, the first demutualised and integrated exchange in Asia-Pacific.

HKFE to Revise Margins for Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd, Hutchison Whampoa Ltd And China Telecom (Hong Kong) Ltd Stock Futures Contracts

CME Live Cattle Futures Set Open Interest Record

For seven consecutive sessions beginning on November 16, open interest in futures on live cattle has set new records on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), culminating on November 24 with a record 135,586 open positions. The previous record was set on September 30 with 129,625 open positions. Combined open interest in the CME's agricultural futures and options products totalled an all-time high of 348,338 on November 24.

Cheaper And Faster Exchange Information From OM Stockholm Exchange

CBOT Sets Volume Records For Corn And Wheat Futures

Chicago Board of Trade members set new volume records yesterday for daily trading of corn futures and wheat futures. The new daily record for corn futures is 186,201 contracts, surpassing by 9.1 percent the old high of 170,660 set June 27, 1995.

Stock Exchange Of Thailand Launches Y2k Command Center

The Stock Exchange of Thailand has announced the launch of the Thai stock market's Y2K Command Center and the completion of its 52 contingency plans, successfully tested and ready for implementation at its main and second computer centers if needed. Also handy are contingency plans for communications and public utilities. Despite full confidence of their preparedness, full technical staff of the SET will be on the alert from midnight December 31 onwards for checking and testing of all equipment

Philippine Stock Exchange Expands Public Assistance Hotline

With the fast growing volume of public use to the recently created Public Information and Assistance Center (PIAC), the Exchange has installed more hotlines to ensure quick response to public inquiries. The PIAC manages public inquiries, complaints, and dissemination of market related information materials.
