    The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) and the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance the lines of communication between the two exchanges.     Chicago Board of Trade members voted overwhelmingly today, by nearly a 6 to 1 margin, to proceed with the CBOT-Eurex alliance. The vote was 750 in favor and 126 against. CBOT Chairman David P.     Eurex, the German-Swiss derivatives exchange, welcomes the result of the vote by CBOT members, which is an expression of the desire to continue the alliance between the world's two largest exchanges, it said.     At its meeting this week, the Toronto Stock Exchange Board approved a 1 p.m. Eastern Time closing for Friday, December 31, 1999. TSE Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Adam Conyers said, "The TSE is showing prudent management practices. The change in hours allows securities firms to make an early start on processing year-end transactions." The TSE will reopen again for trading on Tuesday, January 4, 2000.
