The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreements For 20.2 Billion Krónur.

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on October 23 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.6 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 20.2 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

Singapore Exchange Ltd To Launch Singapore's First Indigenous Exchange Exchange Traded Fund

Singapore Exchange Ltd (SGX) last week announced that it intends to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) to develop Singapore's first indigenous exchange traded fund (ETF). This new ETF will list and trade on SGX Securities Trading (SGX-ST) by the first half of 2001.

IRS Gives Nymex Favorable Private Letter Ruling On Demutualization Transaction

The Internal Revenue Service yesterday gave the New York Mercantile Exchange a favorable private letter ruling notifying the Exchange that there would be no tax consequences to it or any of its members as a result of its demutualization.

Copenhagen Stock Exchange: The KFX Reaches All-Time High

Today, the KFX Index set a new record - the 37th high of the year. The KFX Index closed the day at 354.08 – 61.7 per cent higher than the corresponding day last year. The previous high of 353.82 was reached on 6 October 2000.

CME Expects Favorable IRS Tax Ruling Very Shortly

October 24, 2000 To All Members: We are very pleased to report that we expect to receive a favorable tax ruling from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) very shortly. Broadcom Corporation, Inc. To Join The Nasdaq-100 Index Beginning October 30, 2000

Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq:BRCM), of Irvine, California, will become a component of the Nasdaq-100 Index®, effective at the beginning of trading Monday, October 30, 2000. Class A Shares of Broadcom will also be included in the Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking StockSM (Amex:QQQ). Broadcom will replace Lycos, Inc. (LCOS), which is being acquired by Terra Networks, S.A. (Nasdaq:TRRA).

The Stock Exchange Of Hong Kong: Acceptance Of International Accounting Standards (IAS) And Generally Accepted Accounting Principles In The United States Of America (US GAAP)

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (The Exchange) proposes to amend the Exchange Listing Rules of the Main Board:- to allow listed issuers and listing applicants, which have or are to have a primary listing on the Exchange, to adopt IAS; and to allow overseas-incorporated listed issuers and listing applicants, which have or are to have a secondary listing on the Exchange, to adopt US GAAP.

SWX And Tradepoint Sign Cooperation Agreement

On 20 October 2000, the SWX Swiss Exchange, Tradepoint and the Tradepoint consortium signed in Zurich the set of agreements that will result in the creation of virt-x, the first pan-European blue-chip stock exchange. The new orientation of Tradepoint requires that approval be granted at the extraordinary general meeting of Tradepoint shareholders to be held in mid-November.
