Nasdaq-Amex and Credit Suisse First Boston Lists New Technology Index - New Index Options Designed to Reflect the Way Technology Funds Invest

The Nasdaq-Amex Market GroupSM today began trading options on The CSFB Technology Index (Amex:CTN). Listed on the American Stock Exchange®, the new equity index consists of 75 actively traded companies that include 50 of the largest U.S.-listed technology stocks and 25 other technology stocks selected by the Technology Research Group at Credit Suisse First Boston to add diversification by sector.

Montreal Exchange Members Vote in Favour of the Restructuring Program

At a Special Meeting of Members held today, representatives of the Montreal Exchange's member brokerage firms in a majority vote endorsed the market specialisation plan described in the Memorandum of Agreement proposed on March 15 of this year.

MEFF Launches New European Debt Contract

On July 1, MEFF Renta Fija will launch the first futures and options contracts on European Government Debt, with innovative characteristics designed for the Euro-zone. The new contracts, called DEBS, enable better risk management for investors trading debt of the distinct European countries.

Kansas City Board of Trade natural gas market to close early next Friday (July 2)

Kansas City Board of Trade western natural gas futures and options will close early next Friday, July 2, in observance of Independence Day. Trading in the KCBT gas markets will end at noon Central Time. All other KCBT contracts will trade normal hours. The exchange will be closed on Monday in honour of the holiday.

Conclusion AEX: KLM In Contravention Listing Rules

In July 1999 Amsterdam Exchanges instituted an investigation into an alleged violation by KLM of articles 26 and 28h of the Listing and Issuing Rules, involving an incident in which KLM disseminated announcements via its own intranet entitled "prognosis of KLM's operating results: disappointing results call for measures". The announcements originated with the Air Service and Cabin Personnel Service divisions at KLM. The investigation of Amsterdam Exchanges has now been completed.

Botswana Stock Exchange Market Commentary

The market edged higher as blue chips, Barclays and Stanchart, showed strong gains with the index leaping 2.7%, the highest weekly gain since 15 May 1998. Barclays gained 60t on the adjusted post-split price of P4.00 to trade at P4.60 on light volume. The rival counter Stanchart, picked P2 on a heavy volume of 113,500 shares to regain its all-time high of P25.00. Bahrain Stock Exchange Securities & Investment Research Weekly Report June 13 to June 17

Price indices improved in all the GCC markets except Bahrain. The Oman index rose 2.6% to 233.79 points, the UAE index was up 2.5% to 3349.3, the Kuwait index 2.4% to 1618.1 and the Saudi Arabia 1.6% to 1458.1. The Bahrain Index lost 48% of its gains of last week. After gaining 19 points the prior week, the BSE index lost 9.1 points to close at 2137 points. Once again declines out numbered advances 7 to 6.
