Pacific Exchange Board Approves Demutualization, Screen-Based Trading Plan - Hans Stoll Named Public Governor

The Pacific Exchange (PCX) has announced that its Board of Governors unanimously approved a historic plan for demutualizing the Exchange at its meeting in San Francisco on December 6-7. In addition, the PCX Board adopted proposed rules for a new, fully electronic trading system for equity options and other derivative products.

George Möller Elected President Of The Federation Of European Securities Exchanges

George Möller, Chief Operating Officer of Euronext and former president of Amsterdam Exchanges, is elected as the new president of the Federation of Euroepean Securities Exchanges (FESE) for two years. This was announced today after the Extra-ordinary General Assembly of the FESE (formerly known as the Federation of European Stock Exchanges) in Vienna, Austria.

Copenhagen Stock Exchange: KFX rules amended

On 5 February 2001, the rules governing the KFX Index will be amended to support the value of the index as a tradeable index and to bring the rules in line with international rules governing tradeable indices. A tradeable index is an index on which derivatives, primarily futures and options, may be traded. The changes are primarily of a technical nature and they relate to situations where the index is adjusted. Thus the Exchange ensures an optimum basis of cross-border derivatives trading.
