Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces that effective after the close of business on Thursday, March 29, 2001, the following changes will take place in the TSE 300 Composite, TSE 300 Capped, S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap and TSE 200 Indices.

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc., the National Association of Securities Dealers, and Hellman & Friedman LLC today announced that the leading San Francisco-based private equity firm has signed a definitive agreement to invest $240 million in Nasdaq. The investment is the first following the closing of Phase II of Nasdaq’s Private Placement in January 2001. Hellman & Friedman’s investment represents the latest step in Nasdaq’s strategic restructuring into a private, for-profit securities market.

Turnover In February 200 the total turnover on all market segments of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange amounted to SIT 18.74 billion, which was SIT14.53 billion less than the previous month and SIT 4.09 billion below the February 2000 figure. In the first two months of this year the total turnover on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange was SIT 52 billion.
