Barclays Bank has announced full year results for the year ended 31 December 2001 which are below expectations, primarily due to a significantly larger than anticipated bad and doubtful debts provision of P15.6m. Net interest income was up 17% to P249.7m, while other operating income increased 36% to P138.4m. Tokyo Stock Exchange: Changes In S&P/TOPIX 150

Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) and Standard &Poor' s (S&P) will make the following changes in S&P/TOPIX 150. Tostem Inax Holding Corporation added to S&P/TOPIX 150 TSE and S&P will replace Asahi Bank (8322) in the S&P/TOPIX 150 Index with Tostem Inax Holding Corporation (5938) after the close of trading on Friday, Feb. 22, 2002.

Following the previous week's downward movement, the KOSDAQ50 futures market continued to show the weakness throughout the week with some fluctuation. The yield of benchmark 3-yr K-Treasury bond decreased 5bp over the week and closed the week at 5.90 percent. Both in the KOFEX and the local F/X markets, the greenback inched up and down in a relatively narrow band compared to that of the previous week without any key factors, which could affect the markets.
