    In advance of next week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on June 26, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT®30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.

  • JSE Indices Convert To Free Float

    The JSE Actuaries Index series, which measures the domestic South African market, today converts to an enhanced design methodology and becomes part of the FTSE/JSE Africa Index Series. The new series, created by global index provider FTSE Group and the JSE Securities Exchange SA (the JSE) includes updated versions of the existing JSE indices, as well as detailed resource indices for Gold, Platinum and Diamond sectors.

  • Diamonds Shine At CBOE

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that trading in options on DIAMONDS (DIA) established a volume record yesterday when 62,654 contracts traded. The previous record was set on June 14th when 37,624 contracts traded. Average daily volume in DIA options has been 12,648 contracts since its launch last month, on May 20th. At the close of trading on June 24, 2002, open interest in DIA options stood at 86,779 contracts (32,030 calls, 54,749 puts).

  • CME Euro FX Options Break 15,000 Volume Mark

    Volume in Euro FX options on futures traded on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) broke the 15,000 mark for the first time yesterday, June 24, with 15,052 contracts traded. The trading surpassed by 32 percent the previous volume record set on Jan. 25 of 11,424 contracts.

  • CME Celebrates 10th Anniversary Of GLOBEX<SUP>®</SUP> Electronic Trading On Heels Of Second Busiest Day On GLOBEX Platform

    Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. today marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of its electronic trading platform, GLOBEX®. The anniversary comes the day after CME's second GLOBEX busiest volume day, June 24, when 992,786 contracts changed hands, including a record 647,194 E-mini™ S&P 500 futures.
