    Members of the Chicago Board of Trade on June 11, 2001, voted approval to to reduce the sponsorship requirement for CBOT® membership applicants from two sponsors to one. The vote for this proposal was 342 1/6 for and 65 1/6 against.

  • CBOE Announces Record Volume In Options On Isharessm S&P 100® Index Fund (OEF)

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that a single-day volume record for trading options on the iSharesSM S&P 100® Index Fund (ticker symbol OEF) was established on Monday, June 11, when a total of 26,275 contracts (26,275 calls and 0 puts) traded. Total open interest in OEF options stands at 2,728 contracts.

    Metsef reported good results for the year to 30th April 2001, which exceeded our expectations, in a highly competitive trading environment. Turnover was up 10.4% to P938.2m with gross profit up 17.8% to P47.6m. A strong increase of 40.7% in other revenue to P7.8m, coupled with static costs, resulted in profit before tax increasing by 27.5% to P44.0m. Earnings rose 29.4% to P33.6m. Eps also rose 29.4% 165.4t, which was well ahead of our forecast of 156.0t. Dps was increased by 35.2% to 82.5t.
