Eurex To Launch Options On Dow Jones Euro STOXX SM Sector Indexes - Four New Option Contracts Added To Dow Jones STOXX Product Family

On September 24, Eurex, the international derivatives market, is launching four new option contracts on the sector indexes Banks, Technology, Telecommunications and Healthcare of the Dow Jones Euro STOXX SM. The derivatives exchange already introduced eight futures on these sectors for the Dow Jones Euro STOXX SM and Dow Jones STOXX SM 600 sector indexes on March 19. Market makers will also provide for underlying liquidity in the new products.

Deutsche Börse will start trading U.S. stocks in euros on September 14. The new segment will contain all of the U.S. stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 100, Nasdaq 100 and Dow Jones Global Titans 50, the so-called "Xetra US Stars". CME Sets New Single-Day Volume Record For Currency Trading On GLOBEX®2 Electronic System

Electronic trading of currency futures at Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) rose to a new single-day volume record of 25,314 contracts yesterday, August 15. The previous single-day currency volume record for electronic trading on CME's GLOBEX®2 system was set June 12 at 23,123 contracts. Yesterday's total currency volume reached 150,591 contracts.

CBOE MNX(sm) Sets Single-Day Volume Record

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) celebrated the one-year anniversary of trading the CBOE Mini-NDX (symbol MNXSM) with record setting volume. A single-day volume record in the Nasdaq-100 Index, MNXSM, was established today with an estimated 86,853 contracts trading. The MNX was launched on August 14, 2000 as an exclusive CBOE product.

Deutsche Börse Posts Further Increases In Second Quarter - 23 Percent Increase In Sales Against Previous Year - 19 Percent Growth In Earnings (EBIT)

Deutsche Börse AG posted another substantial increase in sales and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) during the second quarter of the current fiscal year. On Wednesday, the company reported that sales during the second quarter had increased 23 percent to 182.9 million euros, compared with the second quarter of 2000. The EBIT of 70.3 million euros is 19 percent higher than the second-quarter performance last year. For the first half of 2001, sales of 374.6 million euros and EBIT of 160.
