Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman James E. Newsome today announced the selection of Alan C. Sobba as the first Director of the Commission's newly created Office of External Affairs. This office was established as part of a Commission-wide restructuring aimed at facilitating the implementation of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000.

In February 2002, Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc.'s (WCE or Exchange) new, shareholder elected Board of Directors met and decided to adopt an organizational model that would allow the Board to concentrate on more traditional corporate matters. WCE's overall volume and open interest levels declined for the month of February 2002, down roughly 35% for total futures volume, total open interest levels as well as for total futures and options volume combined. The main reason for this months decline was that February 2001 witnessed the highest monthly trade volume recorded in the Exchange's 115-year history. The Copenhagen Stock Exchange Readjusts The Free Float Rules For The KBX Index

Together with the other exchanges in the NOREX Alliance, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange has readjusted the common free float rules for the benchmark indices - including the Danish KBX Index. The changes will take effect in connection with the selection of the future KBX portfolio in the beginning of June 2002. The new KBX portfolio will enter into force on 1 July 2002.
