Channel Islands Stock Exchange Recognised Under s841 ICTA By The UK Inland Revenue

The Board of the Channel Islands Stock Exchange (CISX/Exchange) is pleased to announce that the UK Inland Revenue has designated the Channel Islands Stock Exchange as recognised under Section 841 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 (ICTA).

As the year comes to a close, growth expectations have caused the treasury yield curve to steepen. The 2-year Treasury note yield has dipped approximately 20 basis points in the past month and now hovers around 1.75%. Economic data has been mixed: Jobless claims (4-week average) are at a 6 week high of 401k, November Retail Sales (x-autos) were +5% Y/Y in November and the Institute of Supply Management index remains below 50 at 49.2. The Board Of Directors Of virt-x Recommends The Offer Of The SWX

The SWX Swiss Exchange and virt-x announced yesterday that the SWX will make the shareholders of virt-x plc, which is listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in London, an offer to buy their virt-x shares for 12.5 pence per share in cash. The independent members of the Board of Directors of virt-x have reviewed the offer and recommend to the shareholders of virt-x to accept the offer.

The Warsaw Stock Exchange would like to inform that after the trading session on December 20, 2002, quarterly adjustments to the WIG20 and MIDWIG indices were carried out, as well as quarterly revisions of the WIG, TechWIG and WIRR indices. The new portfolios of all the indices are available on the WSE's web site - www.wse.com.pl (under Market Data -> Indices).
UK's Financial Services Authority Fines Credit Suisse First Boston International GBP4 Million

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has fined Credit Suisse First Boston International (CSFBi) GBP 4 million for attempting to mislead the Japanese regulatory and tax authorities. This is the highest fine ever imposed by a UK financial regulator.
