Nymex To Change Crude Oil, Heating Oil, & Gasoline Trading Hours On Days Of API/DOE Announcements

The board of directors of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., last night voted to amend the trading hours for trading in crude oil, heating oil, and gasoline futures and options on the day of the weekly supply announcement by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the Department of Energy (DOE).

NYBOT's Sugar No. 11 Contract Continues Record-Breaking Streak

In the latest of a series of new Sugar No. 11 records, the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced today another new futures open interest record of 233,154 contracts set on January 8, 2003. The new high replaces the previous Sugar No. 11 record of 228,147 contracts from January 7, 2003.

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®), as the home of the NYSE Composite Index futures and options markets, is structuring a transition from the "Old" NYSE Composite to the "Revised" NYSE Composite that will allow market users to navigate the shift effectively and efficiently.

London Stock Exchange Monthly Market Report For December 2002 - Number Of UK Trades Continues To Rise In December

The total number of UK trades on the London Stock Exchange increased to 2.81 million in December 2002, up 23 per cent compared with 2.29 million in December 2001. There were 20 trading days in December 2002 compared with 19 in December 2001. In total for 2002, the number of UK trades rose to 37.51 million, up 17 per cent from 32.13 million in 2001.

The Chicago Board of Trade, ( CBOTR), the world's largest agricultural commodity exchange, announced yesterday that the first EFR transaction occurred in its Wheat futures market. The EFR was in CBOT® March 2003 Wheat and was for 420 contracts.

Eurex To Launch U.S. Exchange

Eurex, the international derivatives market is expanding its existing U.S. business to include products based on U.S. underlyings. On Thursday, the company announced plans to launch a registered U.S. exchange operated under U.S. regulation in order to offer a full range of derivatives on U.S. interest rates, indexes and equities.
