ISE Implements Volume-Based Discount On QQQ Options

The International Securities Exchange (ISE) said today that it implemented a volume-based discount for trading options on the Nasdaq 100 Index Tracking Stock (QQQ).

Although the Iceland Stock Exchange will be open half-days on Christmas Eve and New Year?s Eve or from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, it will be closed for trading both these days. Thus the last trading day of the year 2003 will be 30 December. The first trading day of the year 2004 will be Monday, 5 January, as banking institutions in Iceland are closed on 2 January. Euronext To Refinance Existing Debt By Sterling Issue

Wayne Carlin, Northeast Regional Director, To Leave Stock Exchange Commission

Wayne M. Carlin, Regional Director of the Commission's Northeast Regional Office, announced today that he will leave the Commission in January to become a partner in the law firm of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. Carlin, 44, has served as Regional Director since October 2000, and previously held various positions on the enforcement staff of the Northeast Regional Office.
UK's Financial Services Authority Chase De Vere Fined £165,000 Over Misleading Promotion

The Financial Services Authority has fined Chase de Vere £165,000 for approving and issuing a misleading direct offer promotion which included high income and precipice bonds. The promotion was circulated with more than 2 million copies of national newspapers and was directly mailed to 236,000 prospective customers.
