    The Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of the Chief Accountant today announced the selection of Paul Munter as academic accounting fellow for a one-year term beginning August 2002. For the last 14 years, Munter has been professor and chairman of the Department of Accounting at the University of Miami. He is a certified public accountant. Munter also has a doctorate in accounting from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Fresno State Univ

    The Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Corporation Finance today announced the selection of David B. Smith as the academic accounting fellow for a one-year term beginning August 2002. Currently, Smith is the Union Pacific Corporation/Charles B. Handy Professor of Accounting at Iowa State University (ISU). He served as the ISU Department of Accounting Chairman from 1998 to 2001.   • CFTC Proposes Reporting Level for TRAKRS Futures Contracts

    The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today proposed amending Part 15 of its rules, 17 C.F.R. Part 15, to establish a reporting level of 25,000 for TRAKRS futures contracts to be traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. A thirty day comment period is provided.

  • Russian Trading System Bonds: Weekly Results

    From July 22, 2002, to July 26, 2002, the total turnover in RTS Bonds system - the system that facilitates trading of corporate, government, municipal debt, and Eurobonds - dropped to 551 thousand US dollars, down from 998 thousand US dollars the previous week. The number of executed trades increased from 9 to 10.
