Nasdaq Liffe Markets Mandatory Single Stock Futures Testing Near Completion

Nasdaq Liffe Markets, LLC (NQLX) will complete the final day of its mandatory dress rehearsal testing tonight. All member firms that plan to participate on opening day have participated in the mandatory testing process and no technology issues have been reported. This evening's final mandatory testing session is all that remains prior to live trading on November 8th.

Merrill Lynch, Chicago Mercantile Exchange Launch Select 50 TRAKRS Contracts

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) today launched the second in its new series of TRAKRSSM futures. TRAKRS are non-traditional futures products developed with Merrill Lynch and licensed exclusively to CME for North America and are the first broad-based index products traded on a U.S. futures exchange that can be sold by securities brokers.

Deutsche Börse Presents New Index Model

Deutsche Börse presented its new index model for the equity market on Thursday. The new model is based on the plan, approved in principle by the Exchange Council of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWB Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse), for two new segments that differ in terms of the applicable transparency standards. According to the current timetable, the Exchange Council will pass the amended Exchange Rules in mid-November, which would then go into effect as of January 1, 2003. The new indices would
