    CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, realized its biggest trading day ever in its agricultural commodity markets, which traded nearly 100,000 contracts for the day. Year-to-date average daily volume (ADV) in CME’s commodity products is 59,000 contracts, up from an ADV of 39,000 in January 2004.   • Citadel Derivatives Group, L.L.C. Becomes Equity Investor In Boston Options Exchange Group LLC

    Citadel Derivatives Group, L.L.C., an affiliate of Citadel Investment Group, L.L.C., has signed an agreement to join the Boston Options Exchange Group LLC (BOX) as an equity partner, making it the seventh broker dealer to invest in BOX. Citadel will join, Citigroup, Credit Suisse First Boston, Interactive Brokers, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley and UBS as a BOX shareholder. The remaining capital is held by two of the founding partners, the Boston Stock Exchange and the Montreal Exchange.

  • CBOE Creates Two New Indexes Based On The Dow Jones Industrial Average

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that it plans to publish two new benchmark indexes, under an agreement with Dow Jones Company, based on the Dow Jones Industrial Average: the CBOE Dow Jones Industrial Average BuyWrite Index (BXD) and the CBOE Dow Jones Industrial Average Volatility Index (VXD).Both will be based on prices of Options on the Dow (DJX), traded at CBOE.
