Malaysia’s Prime Minister To Launch Invest Malaysia 2004

Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Seri Abdullah Hj. Ahmad Badawi is expected to launch 'INVEST Malaysia 2004' on Thursday afternoon, 26 August 2004. INVEST Malaysia 2004, organised by Bursa Malaysia Berhad, will be held from 26 to 29 August 2004 at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

SGX will close its MSCI Taiwan Stock Index Futures and Options Markets today, as the underlying Taiwan stock market is closed due to Typhoon Aere. There will also be no trading for the exchange’s MSCI Taiwan futures contract today via SGX ETS (Electronic Trading System). All trading will resume on Wednesday, 25 August 2004, unless otherwise announced by SGX.

Wiener Börse And OeKB Establish Central Counterparty For All Transactions Concluded On Wiener Börse

Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG (OeKB), which acts as a clearing and settlement agency for cash products, and Wiener Börse AG, which acts as exchange operating company and clearing house for derivatives, have founded a joint company which will assume the function of a central counterparty for the entire Vienna stock market as of 1 January 2005.
