  • Joint Statement By The Securities Industry Association And The Bond Market Association

    The boards of directors of the Bond Market Association and the Securities Industry Association voted yesterday endorsing the concept of merging the two associations into a new entity which will more effectively represent the member companies and the industry while enhancing the public’s trust and confidence in the markets. Once the organizational details have been decided, the boards will vote on the merger by June 30th, followed by a vote of the full membership.

    Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Friday, 7 April 2006, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contract will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company's normal procedures and standard margining methodology.
