The board of directors of the Securities Industry Association today elected Daniel J. Ludeman as the trade association's chairman for 2005. Ludeman is president and chief executive officer of Wachovia Securities, LLC. Ludeman succeeds Richard E. Thornburgh, vice chairman of the Executive Board of Credit Suisse First Boston and a member of the Executive Board at Credit Suisse Group. In advance of next week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on November 10, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT® 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.

Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (Bursa Securities) is updating the component stocks of the Kuala Lumpur Syariah Index (KLSI) in line with the revised list of approved securities issued by the Syariah Advisory Council of the Securities Commission on 29 October 2004. The component stocks update to the KLSI will come into effect on Monday, 22 November 2004.

Lilleng is a law graduate of the University of Oslo, and has been head of the Market Surveillance department at Oslo Børs since 1998. Prior to joining Oslo Børs he was Chief Public Prosecutor at Økokrim (the Norwegian National Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime), and his previous experience includes working as a police inspector and an assistant judge.
