MICEX 2004 Trading Volume A Record 16 Trillion Rubles

In 2004, the total volume of trading in all markets of the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) amounted to 15.751 trillion rubles (547.9 billion US dollars), which exceeds 1.8 times the level of 2003 (8.58 trillion rubles or 280.8 billion dollars) and is a record figure for the whole history of exchange trading on the MICEX. HKEx Announces Measures To Further Develop Its Stock Options Market

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today new measures to further develop its Stock Options market, which set new records last year for volume (5,611,832 contracts, up 33 per cent from 2003) and open interest (979,659 contracts on 29 December). CME Continues To Expand Equity Options Offering - E-Mini™ Russell 2000® Launch In February

CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, today announced it will launch equity options on E-Mini™ Russell 2000® futures contracts – a smaller sized, electronically traded version of CME’s standard Russell 2000 contract, which tracks the Russell 2000 Index. E-Mini Russell 2000 equity options will be listed for trading at 5:00 p.m., Central Time, on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005.

CME Appoints Wayne Bearden As Director, Critical Data Centers And Facilities

CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, announced today it has appointed Wayne Bearden as Director, Critical Data Centers and Facilities. Bearden, who has more than 20 years of facilities management and engineering experience, will have oversight responsibility for the company’s onsite and offsite data centers. Bearden will report to Robert Petrowski, Director, Facility Administration.
