HKEx: Investors' Access To CCASS Becomes More Convenient Following Call Centre Upgrade

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has made investors' access to the Central Clearing and Settlement System (CCASS) more convenient with its upgraded Clearing Service Call Centre and Interactive Voice Recording System (IVRS) which began operating today (Monday).

Total open interest as of January 28th, 2005, increased by 10% in rubles and 5% in contracts and equaled 10 725 million rubles and 1 299 thousand contracts.

Lanxess AG’s listing in the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWB) on Monday represents the first new listing of the year. The announcement was made by Deutsche Börse AG, as operator of the FWB. Lanxess’s shares were initially priced at € 15.75. The initial price was determined on Xetra, the pan-European trading platform. Lead managers of the issue were Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.

Eurex US, the fully electronic U.S. futures and options exchange, announced on Monday that it will be extending its trading day by two hours, from 21 hours to 23 hours, effective April 3, 2005. As of that date trading will begin at 5:00 p.m. Chicago time instead of 7:00 p.m.; the trading day will continue to end at 4:00 p.m. Chicago time on the next calendar day. The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that total open interest in its 10-Year Municipal Note Index futures contract has seen significant growth, with levels more than doubling since the launch of an Electronic Market Maker (EMM) program on January 3, 2005.
