HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Futures Contracts

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Thursday, 1 December 2005, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. UK's Financial Services Authority: Solicitor Found Liable For Assisting A Boiler Room Share Scam

A solicitor and his law firm must pay £360,000 to 63 investors involved in a boiler room scam the Court of Appeal confirmed today. The Financial Services Authority (FSA) will now begin the process of enforcing the payments, including establishing what assets are available. A full recovery of all the victims' losses cannot be guaranteed.

National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Road Freight Index

Since November 17, 2005, NCDEX is displaying on its website a Road Freight Index for India called FREIGHTEX. The index encompasses 50 high-density routes (which are subject to change) and is structured on the basis of the weekly movement in freight rates. A change in the freight rate in any of these 50 routes would revise the index upwards or downwards. The freight rate data is obtained from the Transport Corporation of India Limited.
