The American Stock Exchange, its owners, members, staff and listed companies have expressed heartfelt concern over the plight of victims of Hurricane Katrina. Yesterday, the Board of Governors approved a matching gift proposal whereby the Exchange will match up to $25,000 in charitable donations directed to help people affected by this tragedy.

Deutsche Börse Acquires 51 Percent Stake In Azdex Limited - Market Data & Analytics Expands Services To Cover Counterparty Data - Transaction To Be Closed Mid September

Deutsche Börse is expanding its market data and analytics services to cover counterparty data: The company announced on Wednesday it will acquire a 51 percent stake in Azdex Limited, a UK provider of business entity data content and services established in 2003. The purchase price was not disclosed. The overall cash investment for Deutsche Börse is in the area of a single digit million figure and includes a contribution to the Azdex share capital. CME Foundation Announces Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

As part of the nationwide relief effort to help the people of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the CME Foundation has approved a $250,000 contribution to the American Red Cross and will match donations from members and employees up to $50,000 for a total possible donation of $300,000. Cairn Energy Rejoins FTSE 100

FTSE Group, the global index provider, has confirmed today that Cairn Energy will re-enter the FTSE 100 after a six month absence, at close of business on Friday 16th September. The oil & gas exploration and production company first entered the index a year ago. Joining Cairn in the UK blue chip index is the online gaming giant Partygaming, which listed on the London Stock Exchange in June.

The distressed securities benchmark gained 1.36% in August and is up 5.41% for the year while the event driven benchmark is up 0.61% for the month and 5.13% on a YTD basis.
